An Open Forum Virtual Event

This roundtable event offers a safe space to learn about the issues trans youth face today. We will explore the personal and public challenges that impact trans people, including recent legislation at both national and regional levels, and supportive solutions to help parents and allies navigate. Members of the trans community, families and allies are invited to attend this free event. Attendees will have access to the panel in a Q&A forum.

Our panelists are experts in their field and actively foster services for the LGBTQ+ community:

Carolyn Wahlskog (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, is the Executive Director of Housing at 360 Youth Services in Naperville. She has spent her career focused on the needs of LGBTQ, particularly trans youth and their families’ access to safe and affirming care at school, in health care, housing and when accessing the legal system.

Jameson Pagano (he/him), a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, is the Founder of Partners in Pride Wellness Center in Bolingbrook. He is a trans man, a parent, and experienced therapist that has worked with over 100 trans or gender non-conforming clients.

This event is hosted by the Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) Ministry at Friendship United Methodist Church. Friendship United, a 40+ year institution in Bolingbrook, IL, is one of the most racially and ethnically diverse churches in Will County.
