Shannon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working in the field of mental health services for almost 30 years. He is experienced in working with diverse populations including LGBTQ+, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, trauma, sexual assault, and domestic violence.
As a transgender therapist, he has personal and professional experience addressing the needs of the LGBTQ+ community as well as folks who are beginning to navigate and explore their gender and sexuality. He also has expertise in helping people explore and change their relationship with alcohol and other drugs.
Shannon believes it is imperative that people have an opportunity to show up as their full selves and feel safe, supported, and affirmed. He is passionate about helping individuals feel empowered to make the changes they are seeking in their lives.
His approach is relational and collaborative. He provides a warm, gentle (though direct), trauma-informed, person-centered approach to therapy and healing. He believes that approaching oneself with curiosity and compassion can open the doors of new truths about oneself that leads to acceptance and freedom.
Shannon is here to support you in finding your voice and overcoming obstacles, so that you will believe in the beauty of who you are and gain skills to support your healing.
